The configure session allows you to change information about the recipe, add notifications, choose which Cloud Servers you would like this session to update and setup any smart plugs to control your beer heating and cooling. To configure a session click Click the Session Options Gear icon in the top-right corner of the session you would like to configure and then click the Configure Session option.
Understanding the Session Interface:
When the Configure Session window opens, it displays real-time telemetry data for your active batch.
- Device Status: The Tilt Information section details the specific hydrometer assigned to this fermentation.
- Live Telemetry: As data streams in, the Last Update Received field displays a precise timestamp alongside the current Temperature and Specific Gravity (SG) readings.
Clicking the Fermenter tab allows you to select the fermenter you are using for this session.
You can add / modify the information about the recipe your are brewing by clicking on the Recipe tab.
Configuring Session Alerts & Milestones
The Notifications tab gives you complete control over your alert preferences and delivery channels. You can toggle options for email, text messages (SMS), or both across three distinct alert categories:
- High & Low Temperature Alerts: Triggers an immediate notification whenever your beer drifts above or below your target temperature thresholds.
- Fermentation Milestones: Alerts you the moment active fermentation starts, finishes, or stalls. You can customize the exact duration of gravity stability required to trigger a finished or stalled alert.
- Gravity Milestones: Tracks up to five specific gravity milestones (e.g., 1.050, 1.040, 1.030, etc.). Tilt 4 Windows 2 will ping you the moment each target is reached—perfect for timing dry-hop additions or recipe interventions.
Automating Temperature Control:
The Automations tab allows Tilt 4 Windows 2 to directly control smart plugs linked to your heating and cooling equipment.
- Smart Temperature Regulation: Use this panel to establish the precise Turn On and Turn Off temperature boundaries for each smart plug.
- Hands-Free Climate Management: The application will automatically cycle your heating or cooling devices on and off based on these target thresholds to maintain an ideal fermentation environment.
Cloud Servers section allows Tilt 4 Windows 2 to update your online services. The Start Google Sheets Tracking button is an automated system to setup a Google Sheet that you can monitor from anywhere. See separate document about this feature for more information.
After you have configured your session click the Save Session Configuration button.
